In my mind, this was the prize-winner of our ward's Halloween party for creative costume.
I am done with all the personal attacks but with Obama's obvious socialist tendencies on tax policy, I feel this is fitting. Thank you to Choopes for the contribution.
Yesterday on my way to lunch at Doe's, I passed one of the homeless guys in that area, with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." Once in Doe's my waiter had on a "Obama 08" tee shirt.
When the bill came, I decided not to tip the waiter and explained to him while he had given me exceptional service, that his tee shirt made me feel he obviously believes in Senator Obama's plan to redistribute the wealth. I told him I was going to redistribute his tip to someone that I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. He stood there in disbelief and angrily stormed away.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $3 and told him to thank the waiter inside, as I had decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy looked at me in disbelief but seemed grateful.
As I got in my car, I realized this rather unscientific redistribution experiment had left the homeless guy quite happy for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was very mad that I gave away the money he did earn. Well, I guess this redistribution of wealth is going to take a while to catch on, with those doing the work.

For all of you that say that Obama won't give those who do nothing a tax break, perhaps another example-All the fundraising dollars that Mr. Obama and his campaign have put in the coffers over the last two years should be equally divided between himself and Mr. McCain. McCain has been working pretty hard and he's old!

I have a hard time understanding why you think that Obama is the next Robin Hood. Giving tax breaks to the middle class and not the wealthy, is not stealing from the rich (or hardworking) and giving it to the poor ( or un-hardworking???) Maybe I dont understand your point because I am not rich, so therefore I couldn't be a hard worker????
:) (i love to argue)
The definition of Robin Hood Economics is "taking money from the rich and giving it to the poor" I think you would agree. Now, myself not being anywhere near the definition of "rich" can understand this as well as you can. There is nothing wrong with the rich giving poor money-but the governemnt or president should not be the one doing it. The tax cuts that are given to the "poor" are paid for by increasing the tax on the "wealthy". The government will collect the taxes somewhere. I guess I don't see what's so hard to understand. I never said anything about the middle class being lazy. Our current tax code is based on Robin Hood Economics as well. If I make $164,550 this year I am in the 33% Tax bracket. If I make $32,550, I pay 25%. The rich are subsidizing the poor's tax liability. My point is this...taxes are necessary and are a good thing. If I chose to be a plumber and enjoy my work and lifestyle at $35,000/year then enjoy life...If I chose rather to be a doctor and make $350,000, why does that make me more liable to pay taxes than the middle class? If you don't want to be middle class, then don't be.
My lack of understanding was not in my knowledge of basic tax law and economics but in the mindset and moral reasoning of those choices. But thanks for the mini lesson anyway.
A few things I thought were funny...
* I can't figure out why I felt the need to argue about this with a total stranger. The internet causes strange things...
* I think you think I'm voting Obama
* I guess I made a bad choice when I chose to be a teacher and therefore chose to be in the low middle class. I guess my hard work isn't as important as others. Good thing I married up. :)
* Happy Halloween!
I wish anyone luck with the decision they face on voting day because it's like chosing whether I want to eat liver and onions or spam sandwiches for dinner. Both will cause me grief. I assumed you had an opinion was all.
So I figure we can teach all of the waiters a lesson and then move on to another occupation. (That was a joke) It's too bad most people only educate themselves with information they get from the T.V. I guarantee you - that waiter has no idea what voting for Obama actually means! Just for fun - go visit the black republicans website. It's very intersting! www.nbra.info
